Hello, I’m a Senior Information Specialist working for the University of Abertay Dundee. I currently manage the Universities web team and most of my time is spent either developing Oracle Portal, creating Application Express applications, building ColdFusion applications, looking at web analytics ( Google Analytics, Nedstat and Woopra. I’m also interested in any type of web2.0 technology/community building/collaborative systems. I have recently implemented a new Web Content Management System from TERMINALFOUR and apply a new design to the corporate website which was launched in August09. I live in Carnoustie, Married with 2 kids born in Feb 2005 and April 2008 ) And no, I don’t play golf.
I graduated in Town and Regional Planning from Dundee University in 1996, went to Tesco where I was involved in implementing a Home Shopping Helpdesk and Tesco.Net helpdesk, helped implement an automated email response system. I then joined Scotland Online (now brightsolid) where I was an application developer for 3 years. I have been at UAD for over 5 years now and enjoy every day and no two days are the same.
I’m guilty of taking work home but then who in IT isn’t, love my F1, films and anything gadget related – plus I read non computer literature – really!!!
